It’s the hottest, coolest time on Facebook! Welcome to the official Facebook Page of Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts!
In 1966, in the Texas Hill Country, Bob and Billye Henry and their three children began creating what would eventually become the world’s first water resort and the nation’s most popular summertime waterpark. The name Schlitterbahn is a salute to the German heritage of New Braunfels combining
the German words for slippery (Schlitter) and road (Bahn). Schlitterbahn officially opened its doors in 1979.Today, Schlitterbahn is still family-owned and operated and has become a leader in family water-entertainment.
The company operates five parks: four in Texas New Braunfels, Galveston, South Padre Island, and Corpus Christ and one in Kansas City, KS. The parks in Galveston and South Padre Island offer heated indoor waterparks, open year-round. Additionally, Schlitterbahn operates a Beach Front Resort in South Padre Island and a resort in New Braunfels.
