Midrasha Gallery, HaYarkon 19 is a fine arts, culture and education center, run by Hamidrasha faculty of the arts, Beit Berl College. Located at the heart of Israel's cultural center, Tel Aviv, "Hamidrasha Gallery-Hayarkon 19" represents an extension of Hamidrasha activities while playing an important role in the Arts and cultural scene in Tel Aviv.
The center, which spans on a vast two floor complex, includes a contemporary art gallery, and a versatile space equipped for video screening, conferences, seminars and more.
Serving as Hamidrasha’s display window in Tel Aviv, Hamidrasha Gallery is among the prominent galleries operating in the city, displaying young contemporary artist, Ha'midrasha Gallery is an inseparable part of the daily fabric of the art world. During the year the Gallery hosts many exhibitions, exhibiting in average two exhibitions at a time. The gallery activities include tours and talks with the artists, created for the local community and the public.
Lectures, seminars and Conferences: Working with Hamidrashas academic staff, we curate a diverse range of talks, on current subjects: Local film,-scene, digital media, art education, social matters and more. All of which are open to the public.
At Hayarkon you will find that every Tuesday there is a lecture, and every Thursday there is a screening hosted by Hamidrashas film department.
Art Education Programs: As an extension to Hamidrasha's activities in the field of art education, Our programs serve schools and teachers from the Tel Aviv district and beyond. Students of the Midrasha faculty, which study art education, take part in the ongoing activities. The center provides current lectures and seminars for art teachers, and provides activities for art students.
Working with the community: acknowledging the unique location of our center, our programs also include activities for and with the communities around us.
Artist Initiatives: Hayarkon 19 encourages unique initiatives on cultural and social issues that are in need of development. Artists from all fields, as well as researches, and social activists are welcome to use the center and its resources in order to develop unique group based initiatives.
Future Goals: Our goal In the future is to develop a digital library and archive, accessible to the public during Gallery hours. The archive will focus on art and film education in Israel, and will include the bank of knowledge that the Midrasha faculty has accumulated throughout the years.
